still no answer on my SBA PPP loan 9 days after applying and on the day they ran out of money. I'm not sure what that means for those of us who have applied but not gotten money. I know they are not accepting applications any more and I know that we can only make it another month or so.
I'm not sure why they can't do two more bills other than political leverage considerations. Further funding the PPP program would pass by unanimous consent if enough guys sit on Rep. Massie from KY.

My hot take. No matter what Trump did he was going to get skewered politically. He knew that, so he went with his gut. If he was right then he was a genius. If he was wrong then he can blame everything on the idea that no one would have liked what he did had he shut down the economy earlier.
The choices were shut everything down in January or wait and hope it went away.
But here is the problem as I see it: Shutting everything down would have saved lives. In this instance, real leadership would have been to shut down early and take the political blowback you would have received from your own party; the DEMS would complain regardless. But he gambled with the lives and livelihoods of others going with his gut and his wishful thinking.
Both choices were political lose-lose choices. Only one choice was the choice of a wise leader. He couldn't make that choice because he is not a leader except of the cheering kind.

Trump setting it up so that if there is an outbreak in a state he can blame the Governor of that state.
"We gave guidelines, very good guidelines, the best guidelines, you know, no one would have done these guidelines but we did them, and they were great, really great, they were the best guidelines."

This state is &%$ed. So is Texas.
May 16 Texas marked the largest day of covid19 cases. May 18 Gov. A announced the initiation of phase II in opening the state.

Look at the bright side, Okie.
Your state has been supplanted by Kentucky as the state with the worst Senators in the country.
