I go to counciling sessions with my grandson and he sounds exactly like Holden Caufield.
My grandson has Aspergers (can you believe there is a malady called Aspergers?). My daughter swears he got it from me and we are a lot alike. He doesn’t want anyone else to go to sessions with him and he does not want to go without me. I think that is pretty cool.

I just finished “Marching Men” by Sherwood Anderson. I read a review of the book last night in Good Reads where a reader said, “with Marching Men Anderson was trying to write like Faulkner”. The only problem here is that Marching Men was written a year before Faulkner published his first novel (through Anderson’s influence).
I have never read anything by Sherwood Anderson that I did not like a lot.

Bet you wouldn't like Dark Laughter We’ll see. It is next in line after “The Accidental Tourist”.

I just finished The Accidental Tourist. I should’ve read it first. Anne Tyler is a very good writer, but 3 Books is enough for now.
I am reading Dark Laughter... a hundred pages in and I like it a lot.

I'm going to take a pause in The Last Lion to read whatever Ben Sasse's book is titled.
I don't know a whole lot about his politics but I like the way he thinks government and politics are supposed to work. I listened to his speech on the floor a couple of months ago and another on CNN this morning and I sure would feel better if he were President right now regardless of the 2016 outcome. I think that you can at least trust his motives which is more than can be said for just about any candidate in 2016.

Bet you wouldn't like Dark Laughter You were right, it wasn’t his best work, but it was better than everything that came after it. I blame “Torrents of Spring”. Anderson was emotionally fragile all his life. Hemingway ruined him. Hemingway was the emperor of dicks.
