You hike up and over a hill. Pray for a boulder. Or ask your neighbor to kindly look the other way while you drop a deuce. Last pic. Turns out there was a gal from Joplin and a guy from Cape Girardeau there. They came over to my camping spot to see who was rocking the STL hood "ornament."

yep. I've seen some interesting trail fixes, but that takes the prize. I've heard pantie hose works in that situation, but never seen it firsthand.

In my world I've recently seen similar things on a much large and more dangerous scale. This is the shaft of a motor that is about 1500 HP and turns at 1750 rpm. The old coupling wore out and they couldn't get a new one so they took scraps of conveyor belting and made their own. It ran surprisingly well for long enough to get a replacement and schedule an outage to replace it. That's life in a big plant in Guatemala. Attachments:

I had a slo-mo video of it which was even cooler but it was archived and I don't have access anymore.
I saw some guys in a sawmill use rope to couple two low speed high torque shafts and thought that was brave but that was a backwoods operation. This is a modern facility but in Guatemala, assest are hard to acquire so they make do. I have a friend there who does the same kind of work that I do and this was his client.

It was a small but appreciative gathering.

My Gambler car made the front page of a feature article in Automobile Magazine. That is us getting stranded with our dick in our hands. Photographer wasn't quite prepared for what he was getting into.

Outstanding.
I am seriously jealous of you doing these rallies.
My life revolved around $100-$500 cars until I was about 30.

The Dalton Highway has got to be on the list of places to try that.
