Hawaii and Indy are over and it is time for a new adventure.
My assistant had a baby and went out on maternity leave and as soon as the benefits ran out, she quit. But come August I will be back at full staff (that's what she said) and will have time to take a much needed break.
My plan is to drive around Scandinavia. Fly in to Copenhagen and rent a car and drive the coasts of Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark.
This is not a done deal yet but I hope it works out.

I really want to go on that but my assistant at work quit after her maternity benefits ran out and has left me in a lurch. If I can get a new assistant and new full-timer trained and up to speed then I can take the Scandanavia trip. Plus there is a chance at a promotion that I really want and if I get it that could throw a wrench in the old gearbox.
I hate uncertainty.

Back from the land of Ice. Physically and mentally cooked. The pace we went at was incredible. Almost every rig had major issues within 2 hours of the starting point. I lost the oil pan, bumper, lots of sheet metal and managed to bend frame of the Jetta to where doors, hood and trunk lid wouldn't open. I took a hard fall after wrenching on an axle and got scuffed up. No shower and about 5 hours sleep in 3 days. Since a lot of us were &%$ed up over time changes and the fact that the sun doesn't set, we opted to drink, wrench..scrounge for shared parts and tools...wrench....drive...doze..drive..repeat. I don't have a ton of scenic pictures to post. Too busy keeping rigs road worthy. Most of the scenic ones I have were taken in the middle of chaos and I wouldn't have it any other way! There were some epic trail fixes: someone made a serpentine belt out of rainbow colored zip ties and it got them 30 miles to where it could get a better fix. .

How do you get out of sight on an island with no trees?
