So, I live in Broken Arrow, OK. It is the largest school district in OK and they were determined to have live school.
Today they reported almost 100 staff tested positive.
"Do we just throw our hands up and say we're not going to have school no more, now virtual school's the way to go? We can't do that. If we do it, our public school system is going to fail," School Board President Allen said, to applause from members of the public in attendance.
Nice double negative to start his rant of ignorance.
"Everyone claims to be an expert. There's no experts in coronavirus," Superintendent Vinson said at the time.

It's &%$ing exhausting.
Biden should start responding to questions about what Trump does and says by saying, "I'm sick of talking about what that idiot says or does. Let's talk about how I'm going to make it better."
If Biden leads up and lets Trump continue to lead down, he SHOULD win.
But I'm damned if I know what some people are thinking. It doesn't even seem to be driven by self-interest.

“Don’t buy GOODYEAR TIRES - They announced a BAN ON MAGA HATS. Get better tires for far less!” Trump wrote on Twitter. “(This is what the Radical Left Democrats do. Two can play the same game, and we have to start playing it now!).” -Donald Trump 9.20.20
The President of the Inited States trying to shut down one of the most iconic American companies that employs 62,000 people and has been around since 1898... during a pandemic

I'm gonna ask this to Shat because it involves some numbers and that makes Okie's head all dizzy and the other guys are probably high.
In a whole lot of states (including VA), there is a balanced budget law. With expenses way up and revenues way down, and evidently no more help coming from the Feds, that really going to be hard.
What do you think about the idea of states selling COVID bonds like we sold War Bonds during WWII?
I think the stock market is only going to stay up until earnings start coming in from the losers and drops in consumer spending start showing up in reports. People are looking for safe places to put large amounts of money.

If States are in trouble and the rating agencies downgrade them the bonds could be very expensive for the State because they would have to pay a higher yield to the bondholders. An interesting idea would be to sell perpetuals with a call date 5 years out so the investors would get guaranteed interest for those years with the potential that it could go on longer. The States then would be able to retire that debt when it was most convenient with either surplus revenues or with a new bond issue when their ratings get better. Munis are tax-free so it could generate interest among people with a lot of money.

Virginia has a AAA rating and a balanced budget law.
We have a two year budget cycle where we adopt in even years and amend in odd. We just adopted on June 23 so we might be in a better situation to use something like a bond issue to help balance this years budget. I would imagine that it would be quite some time before bonds could be issued and when money starts coming in so now would be the time to get going if we really are in as much trouble as I perceive.

Toll booths are the answer How about state sanctioned prostitution? States could get a cut. I could write the marketing slogans.
"Florida is Handy For Something"
"Oregon's Beaver is Old But Has No Teeth"
Missouri: "Our Gals Are Not From Arkansas"
OK. Needs some work.
