He was diabetic, blind, deaf, with a liver disease. I took care of him in this condition for over a year and he wasn't in distress. He loved to eat and have his head rubbed... But yesterday he started having seizure after seizure and was in pain.
It was time.

I've had to do it twice in the last two years. It's not a hard decision as far as it being the right choice, but it's still an agonizing ordeal. My sympathy to you.

Thanks. Thankfully it was not a difficult decision. Kasty and I have the experience of not putting a dog down when we should have, so we learned from that.
It was more painful than I anticipated.

It's emotionally crushing but at sometime, the certain knowledge that it was best for Ollie will overcome the the inescapable sense of guilt and pain associated with having to take a life.
