Mikolas was one of the top 10 pitchers in baseball last season... Luck? Top 10? No. Top 20. There are about 10-15 starters who were better last season. If you include relief pitchers he was maybe a top 25. If you look at that group you will see some one off types and Miles is looking like one of them.

You are correct about top 10. I exaggerated. I think he will be fine this year... about the same.

Was last year luck for Mikolas? Probably so.

Mikolas looking very super-duper lucky.

He looked pretty good after he looped a curve in that got creamed.
Then he fanned the next guy with 3 very well-placed fast balls.
It looked to me like he and Yadi weren't on the same page. Yadi wanted some fast balls and it worked but Mickey wanted to keep throwing the curve half of the time.
It's a good thing we "got lucky" (listening to MASN and the Nats guys) early or this could have been a different outcome.
He should get on Yadis page if that's really the thing.

Mikolas’s curve was as good as I have ever seen it. It was a sharp 12-6 nasty knee buckler. He gave up one run in 6 innings. We win 95% of those games.
We scored 2 runs off the Nats pen. They are lucky we didn’t score 6 off their pathetic bullpen.

Lefty is wrong about everyone. He probably still thinks Molina should be in the minors. Agree with him at your own peril.

"He brought his ERA down to 4.73 by scattering out 7 hits over 6 shaky innings.", St. Louis fan Daneaux said.
