What made you decide to do this and do it by yourself? I love road trips. This route was on my list. I have the southern island of New Zealand on this list and a few other epic places like Tierra Del Fuego that I plan to do. I've already done Europe, the American West, Ireland, and Ukraine. Some have been with a companion and some solo. I am ok with either arrangement. When I'm ready to go, I go. If someone wants to go then welcome aboard. If not, no problem. I'll take lots of video and pictures. My parents went to New Zealand so many times they made an arrangement with some friend there to trade houses for months at a time. If it hadn't been for my grandparents needs, I think they might have moved. It's a really long flight. About 48 hours travel time. First class is a must.

The smart money flies business class. Same amenities at half the cost. I am going on IcelandAir's Economy Light. AKA, stingy super looooooow budget ticket with only a personal item and a carry on.
I am ok with it, but am a little perplexed on how to pack for various situations.

The low cost airline in Iceland is called WOW and they have smoking hot flight attendants. I heard someone say that WOW is a bad name for an airline because it sounds like they are surprised to be flying. It would be like putting your money in a bank called F#CK!

They didn't have business class when they were going. I read that Air New Zealand had done away with first class.

Shat, turns out I only have 1 day/night to burn in Iceland. I can't stray too far from Keflavik.
I know there's plenty to do, but if you have any suggestions that would great.

Blue Lagoon with dinner after at Lava. Get the premium package that includes the dinner reservation. Then bar hop in downtown Reykjavik.
If you've got the time/money to blow get the helicopter tour of the Golden Circle.

Booked a couple of places in London (one is a narrow boat) and a coastal cottage outside Shannon, Ire.
