Tolerance is overrated.
My wife had a hold on the back of my shirt last week at dinner when one of the people behind us said that there was some Mexican shooting up Odessa. I simply told them it was not a Mexican. It was a white male. It is never a Mexican it is always a white male. They were not prepared to be confronted so that was the end of it, but I have several of those type stories that do not usually go so smoothly.
I was raised to defend people and speak up.
I do not know what is going to happen. Trump has even put Fox News into the category of Fake News. Even when he is voted out, the divide will remain. The anti-intellectual racists have found a champion and been given a voice.

"(Bert may be able to attest to just how far Richmonders have their heads stuck up their asses)"
Richmond is the only place I've picked up a tranny hooker.
Or was that East St. Louis?

"Reason doesn't seem to work anymore since we can now redefine words, say a lie is the truth, say the truth is a lie, and do it all with impunity"
It's called Postmodernism.

If Trump loses support from the short-sighted capitalist sector of his support, he is dead.
The fascist racist anti-intellectual idiots will always support him and my sport with them affects nothing.

They are going to miss out on a ton left-of-center votes and end up wondering why. I don't see one viable candidate who can stop the Trump machine. Stating the obvious, I know...

Trump’s approval rating is 41.5. I do not believe any President is history has been re-elected with an approval rating that low.
Regarding the Dems, more Dems will hold their nose and vote for whomever emerges from the primary this year. Personally I do not give a &%$ who the candidate is. At this point I miss Richard Nixon.
Trends toward recession are a killer for Trump. So many voters know he is an idiot, but they vote their pocketbook. Take that away and his approval will dip into the 30’s.

"So many voters know he is an idiot, but they vote their pocketbook."
I heard Mark Sanford (who is running on his platform of "I'm a philanderer who misused public assets but I'm not as bad a Trump" answering the question about when his crusade against Trump fails, who will he vote for.
His answer was, whoever has the best economic plan proving once again that Republicans still don't give a $%^ about ethics or honor and will vote their pocketbooks no matter what.
I had a hard time explaining to my son how this is becoming class warfare when most Trumpeteers aren't in the class they are fighting for.

Is the best economic plan to increase spending, cut revenues, balloon the deficit, force the Fed to feed bubbles that will eventually burst, and all of this in an already expanding economy, a time when it would be prudent to actually cut fiscal and monetary stimulus and increase revenues to reduce the national debt? Is that the plan he will vote for?
Interesting how Obama got it right and Europe (and Repubs in the USA) got it wrong. During recession you want government stimulus, not austerity. During expansion you want the government to pull back and pay down...let the market do the heavy lifting. This is not a difficult concept.
