If there were no guns there would be no school shootings. If there were no schools there would be no school shootings. If there were no people, no people would be killed by guns. You must not have partaken in "We Need to Talk about Kevin". Which would you rather get rid of, schools, people, or guns?

STFU! There are not two sides here except you. What's your solution, slick. I don't have some magical solution, but I am a believer that social media and "Screen time" is at the root of the problem. I think the lack of face to face social interaction is leading to a dehumanization of people to lots of children at a young age. You're an idiot.

Maybe not all guns, just the ones that aren't flintlock long rifles.

Is it easier or harder to acquire a gun today than it was 25 years ago?

Do you propose banning all guns?

How do you propose to get rid of several hundred million guns that are for the most part in that hands of law-abiding citizens who don't want to give them up?
Walter had an idea that has promise if anybody that counts is looking at it. He said that gun owners should be required to carry insurance and held responsible for everything that happened with their gun.
I'm not sure if he thought it through to the part where it would require gun registration but I still think it might be a good idea.

I don't think a registration and insurance idea is a bad idea. Although when you do that you open up policing to ask to see your licensing and insurance which gives them another opportunity to hassle minorities and of course involve weaponry which doesn't always end well.
My biggest issue with a gun ban is it's basically removing the second amendment, and most will claim it's old and outdated. Can we just start choosing other amendments we don't really care for?

If we can show any part of the Constitution to be creating undue harm, then we should amend it. It's a very high bar (and should be) but there is a method for correcting mistakes made by the founding fathers. They knew they were making some mistakes because they were human and were making it up as they went along so they wrote a process in.
So yes, we can choose any part of the constitution and change it for whatever reason we choose. It just has to be an overwhelming agreement.
