I didn't know that they couldn't already. Atlantic City and Vegas might have some gambling going on right now.

You can bet online through some overseas casinos but they are all pretty shady. This hopefully opnes it up for betting online in the states where getting paid out isnt such a hassle. Vegas has the Sportsbooks but Atlantic City never has.

We are going to get what they call historical track betting. Betting on races that have already run.
Didn't they make a movie about that?
It's all part of trying to revive horse racing in VA. OUr local indian tribes were just granted recognition and are planning on building a casino near the existing but idle race track. The historical racing thing is a piece to that puzzle somehow.

In 1992, the Professional and Amateur Sports Act made it illegal for states to allow gambling on sporting events, but Nevada, Montana, Delaware, and Oregon were grandfathered in.
It seems stupid to only allow 4 states this right.
I am ambivalent regarding gambling; it does not appeal to me. I know people that have ruined their lives from gambling, but I have my own cunning, baffling and powerful tormentor, so who am I to judge.
