Sorry for the suspicion but you earned it.
I actually met John Prine several times. We didn't burn one but we downed several.
Same with Steve Goodman.

My buddy the artist used to get us in to meet people all the time. He would do a portrait or something and then just ask until we were there. I just tagged along and brought weed.

I'm not gonna fall for that.
I got Gurf to sign an on-line petition for something. He came here recently but I didn't go.

Gurf's work as a producer is more impressive to me than his work as a performer.
Car Wheels on a Gravel Road (Lucinda Williams) Mercy Now (Mary Gauthier) Broke Down (Slaid Cleaves)
These are 3 of my favorite albums of all time and all 3 were produced by Gurf.

Car Wheels on a Gravel Road is on of my favorites The other two are equally good, but there should be a warning not to listen if you are contemplating suicide... not much cheerfulness.

I want to argue a point. Idiotface thinks the Beach Boys are the whitest band ever. Well, I disagree. They were heavily influenced by Chuck Berry and STAX. That sound prevails in their early records. You want a white band? Try Nrivana. Now I want you to watch this interview with a drug-addled genius and tell me what you think. www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9AenU9iWEs

I knew Steve Earle worked on it. Didn't know Gurf did. She no like Gurf's work apparently after a quick internet glance. And Steve didn't care for working on that record either. I like her even more.

I have to point out here that it was not my intention to offend berto. I was simply pointing out a fact.
There is nothing wrong with being white. I'm white (well, a quarter white) and I am not offended by having a white Grandmother. She was as welcome in our house as a lot of black peoples I knew.
I say enjoy your Beach boys; after all, they were the original boy band and millions upon millions of 11-14 year old white girls can't be wrong... right?
