Maybe so. Fowler doesn't seem to be getting the job done with the bat. Bader has done well so far but there probably isn't a good book on him yet and there will be soon.
What about Carp and Ozuna, though? Three walks and 25 K's Ozuna? Really? You can't make that up with 2 hr's.
Maybe benching Fowler for a while will light a fire under Carp and Ozuna. Maybe Carp needs to hit leadoff and pay 2nd every day. Maybe he needs to be traded for a starter and Gyrko made our full time 3b.
It seems to me like our lineup is unnecessarily disrupted by Carp vs. Mart at 1b, carp vs. wong at 2b, carp vs. gyrko at 3b. Trade Carp for a starter and solve two problems.
AND bench Fowler in favor of Bader. Deliver the message that we can get mediocre performance for the pittance we pay Bader as compared to the poor performance we are paying him millions for.

Curse you lefty for making me look at baseball-reference.com and seeing that we still owe Mike Leake $15 million over the next 3 years.
But on the bright side, we must have one of the best deals in baseball with Tommy Pham at $570k.

Bader is a much better athlete than Fowler. He is a hard nosed player, and Fowler is a loafer who is terrible in the outfield. Our lineup really isnt that good similar to last year so better get a guy like Bader in there who can make things happen. Ozuna is a slow starter usually I think so hopefully he snaps out of it. I have been done with Carp for 2 years, and you know Martinez will come down to earth and probably get hurt.

I'm with you on Martinez. He's not as good as his numbers show right now and every time pitching coaches see him they are going to learn more about how to beat him. My guess is he will get pounded inside and won't be able to get his bat on the ball.
Carp needs to be hitting first and playing either 2nd or first every day somewhere. It's not fair to him or Gyrko, Wong, and even Garcia (who might take Wongs place) to have to share AB's at various positions in the lineup.
I think Bader is a great athlete too. And very fast. He's earned it and Fowler has not performed.
