What are the odds Harper ends up a Cubbie?

"What are the odds Harper ends up a Cubbie?"
...I wish he had before Shildt decided to pitch to him twice yesterday.

I predict if the Cardinals make a deep postseason run that Hicks will be closing the games.

I’m ready for Hicks to replace the seasoned veteran right now.

I’m also ready to replace pitch calling behind the plate with technology. I’d at least like to see a statistic of pitch calling percentage for each ump. Maybe even a stat for plays overturned by replay.
Umpires have too much influence over the outcome of games.

I have been advocating for that for many years.

I have been since cameras achieved the resolution that made it possible.
I have one client that makes 7,000,000 plastic bottles a day and inspects every single one, rejecting defects with about 99.9% accuracy. There is a cell phone app that will scan you and design clothes that they claim have a more precise fit than a tailor can achieve.
If you can do that stuff with cameras, you can call balls and strikes.

Martinez is too much of a head case for the pen and too fragile to be a starter.
He's just a guy who throws some spectacular pitches on occasion.

I have been advocating for that for many years. If I recall, at one point you proposed that the ump have an earpiece that gave a basic tone for ball or strike. And he could choose to accept the call or override it. (something like that)
I like that idea and it would interesting to see stats on how many pitches are accepted or overridden.

I’d like to see the umps fitted with shock collars that hit them for every bad call. Now THAT would add interest to the game.

My idea was for an earpiece that played a tone if the pitch was in the strike zone. This would make their jobs easier. Now you just have to call foul tips and check swings and balks and interference etc.
