charlie blackmon is set to sign an extension with the rockies. 3 years guaranteed, 2 years of players option. next year's stacked free agent class has already narrowed.

Based on this off-season, seems like a good decision for Blackmon.
With that stated, Blackmon is a sabermatricians wet dream.
My guess is the off-season class will have Harper>Machado>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>every one else.
The rest will be candle holders.

Kapler's not going anywhere. He's exactly what the new sabermetric baseball GMs are going for. Guys who can relate to the guys within the clubhouse and aren't going to try to use their managerial intuition. They are guys who will follow the data as presented by the higher ups.

I didn't watch the game. just a copy/paste from the STL MLB page:
Wainwright walked Peralta to lead off the game, then fought decreasing fastball velocity before exiting after throwing 89 pitches. He allowed three runs over 3 2/3 innings, with four walks and three strikeouts.
