Look at that, Hicks is closing.
Who could've seen that coming.

watching the game today. 2-2 score
It's a game of umpire challenges. They are 1/2 in getting it right. Missed one-even with replay. Martinez is at 75 pitches in the 4th and is all over the place with location. So he's not getting calls that he should. Oquendo sucks as a 3rd base "coach" (duh)
Meltdown is about to ensue.
edit: 4-2 and the bleeding begins

That was the worst called game all season. Missing the pitch that hit the batter's foot was inexcusable.

Granted, it was stupid, but it had little if any bearing on the outcome of the game, but Carlos actually pitched a decent game. He hit the corners, but didn't get the calls. And sometimes pitched well outside the zone were called strikes. The calls were bad all the way around, but Carlos kept getting hosed at the worst possible times.
It's like what's the point in throwing good pitches if they aren't going to get called. Games like that one make me consider letting technology call the balls and strikes. There was one inning that Carlos looked like he struck out 5 guys. I wished Yadi would've turned around and backhanded the ump with his mit and said, WHAT THE &%$!"

I was actually impressed Carlos kept it together. His body language showed frustration and you just know his inner voice was wanting to scream &%$ you at the ump.
baby steps, I suppose.

I used to think he was the second coming of Andujar but he is starting to disappoint me on that front.

I used to think he was the second coming of Andujar but he is starting to disappoint me on that front. He is soft. Only hard nosed players we have anymore is Pham and Yadi. Matheny way doesnt like players with attitude.

Martinez is twice the pitcher Juaquim was at this point in his career.
I have no idea what you mean by "hard nosed" Anthony Reyes or Kip Wells hard nosed? They were hard nosed. Waino has been hard nosed since TJ and I don't care if we ever see him again.
