The sad thing is that it will probably work.
Too often, when the question is, "How do we attract young viewers?" the answer that baseball comes up with is "more".
This one might succeed because it adds intrigue and drama. To me, it adds glitz and a Foxiness that I try to avoid in most things. Definitely in baseball.
It also will extend a season that I already think is about 60 games too long.

As it is I pretty much only watch Cardinals games and possibly a bit of the World Series.
MLB has to get rid of the blackout or they are going to continue to wither.

I watch Cardinals and any game on that isnt a snooze fest, and I pretty much watch most of the playoffs.
Blackouts are dumb.

I watch any Cards I can catch. Usually 25-30 a year.
And I watch the playoffs if the Cards are in it. Otherwise, it's too hard on an old man to stay up and watch a game that starts at 8 and ends at 12 when I get up at 5 or 6.
And with this, it means an even more extended time losing sleep.

I started using this site last year: bit.ly/39y7X7LHad to tweak a browser to allow unsafe scripts (very easy with a couple of clicks) It was fairly consistent as far as quality, but of course it's subject to being taken down at any moment.
edit: seemed to get around blackouts.

Danny, you might consider YouTube TV where you can have the games recorded and then watch them in the morning skipping through the breaks. I love it.
