I am taking ibuprofen and cyclobenzaprine. Slept well. If my movements improve today I'm still going to go. Doing this roadtrip as a cripple will make it even more epic.
I bet puffin is a great panacea.

I get four 5 mg valiums for an mri. I also schedule the really big one that Siemens makes. I have to put a cloth over my eyes so all I can see is the end of the tunnel. Then they blast Grateful Dead music for me. It takes a great deal of concentration for me to not move to the music and that serves as a distraction.
I take three valium before the mri and save one as a reward for making it through it.

cyclobenzaprine has about the same effect as valium. I get something of a hangover from them, though.
They are both muscle relaxants to keep the spasms down. Without them, Okie would be calling you a Spazz too.
I'm glad you weren't injured too badly. Get some professional PT so it won't turn into chronic back issues. I didn't and wish I had.

I'll be interested in hearing how Iceland is. I have a trip from Seattle to London via Reykjavik.
I can either blow threw the layover or opt to stay in Iceland with no airfare penalty.
Difficulty: it's in mid-november.
