Needs to be Kamala Harris. She would be fantastic in a debate with Vice President Pence.

If "media" reports are true, Kamala is going to be on the outside looking in. Joe might "Palin it."

He needs to remember that a Presidential election is never won by the choice of a running mate. Only lost.

I don't know of anyone that lost because of their VP choice. The closest is McCain but he was going to lose anyway.

Nixon had a screaming economy and won in the biggest landslide to that date. McGovern had no chance no matter who his running mate was. His own party didn't like him and no one wanted to run with him. Shriver was on the ticket on election day anyways.

Eagleton was just the final nail in McGoverns coffin.
Palin, on the other hand gave McCain an initial boost into the lead in some polls after her speech/screech at the convention, but became a serious drain on him as we learned that she really wasn't more than a pretty face. She may have cost him as much as 2,000,000 votes.
For me, it ended my flirtation with John McCain for President. Not because of Palin, it's really hard to screw things up as VP.
It was because McCain, when faced with the most important decision of his political career, made such a horrible choice and was apparently so casual about it.
So it cost him at least one swing vote. I doubt if I was the only one.

Eagleton could have pulled it out for McGovern if not for the whole "being crazy" thing.
It was a bold pick.
I'm wondering if Biden didn't put a hold on things because he had decided on Bass and then found out about her past praise of Scientology. He's giving it a week to see how it plays.

Giving lip service to Protestantism is acceptable. You have to play to the credulous majority. But praising Scientology means you actually buy into it and that makes you a complete four square idiot.

I wish that belief in God weren't a requirement to hold office, but it kind of is. I've really never looked that deeply into Scientology and don't even recall why I thought it was so stupid. All I recall was that it was an easy decision to toss it into the vast waste bin of invented beliefs.

I am siding with the GOP on this stimulus debate. $3T is way too much.

I agree that ANOTHER $3.4T is too much but I also agree with the Dems that $1T after 2 months is way too little and way too late.
The initial $T's could have been enough if we had really shut down. But we didn't because we had no leader and we, as Americans, are going to get away with whatever we can.
So now those $T's are gone and we are in worse shape than we were when we started our half-assed shutdown.
And it's mostly the "conservatives" that are causing all this waste.
This is the stupidest thing I have ever witnessed us do as a society. Maybe the virus is winning because it is smarter.
