I didn't see either "debate" because the format stinks and it would be a waste of time.
I would rather have a series of discussions where two candidates sit with a host and discuss issues for 2 hours. With 24 candidates that would be 12 discussions over a 2 week period.
After each there would be a vote by viewers and that would leave 12 for the next round, 6 after that one and the final 3 in a final debate/discussion.
Candidates without well thought out policies would be left watching at home very quickly and we could see who was serious.
