Don't challenge Trump to drive things lower. If there's one things he's good at it's leading to the bottom. This steel tariff is going to be a job killer. The construction industry is shutting down as I type this. About 75% if my project pipeline has been put on hold. New feasability reports are being requested by everyone. I have seen this before. Most of these projects go away for good.

I have one client who is a huge exporter of soybeans. They were not able to keep up with the advance orders. I'm not sure of what is happening now.
Of the recent growth reported at 4.1%, .6 percentage points was directly due to advance orders of soybeans to beat the tariffs. Now comes the bust cycle would be my guess. Except it's going to be made harder by retaliatory export tariffs by China.
Trade wars are stupid.

In the construction industry, projects that are far enough along to buy steel now are doing it, but projects that are in the design phase (my projects) are stalling out.
Most of the work I do does not get built for 1-2 years after most of my work is done. There is always speculation by GCs and Owner’s Reps as to the budget. Right now there is a lot of “wait and see” going on.

I recall in the late 90's the prices of stainless steel being so volatile that I was getting quotes from manufacturers in the morning that were good until 2 pm. It was caused by market manipulation by Japan I think. It made it damn hard to build conveyors.

This is what is referred to as an anecdotal fallacy where you take an outlier event and equate it as commonplace.

Thanks for giving it a name. Me screaming "outlier event, equated as commonplace" at the TV was really getting on my wife's nerves.
So I guess that means that the Trump EPA actions that will likely cause thousands of premature deaths is NOT anecdotal fallacy, right? ...because it's thousands of deaths, not just one pretty girl and an illegal alien.

Cohen's lawyer said that he wouldn't accept a pardon from Trump.
Like Rudy, he says a bunch of $%^ he shouldn't say.
Pardon Manafort though? That could happen.
