I am watching the game and was looking over his stats in his 15th year. Started about 370 more games as a catcher. Won 3 GG's as a catcher, 3 batting titles, 6 AS games, 5 SS's, and has 1 MVP. 2000 hits lifetime BA of.308 and OBP .392 figure he ends up with 2300 hits for his career if he plays a few more. I cant decide. I want to say yes, but.... you are an idiot. Still a master of the English language.

If Mauer could have stayed behind the plate and performed, he would have a much better case. If he had stayed a catcher I think he is in easily. But he didn't/couldn't.

If Mauer can play 3-4 years at his 2017 level then maybe he's in the discussion. Considering his 2014-2016 however that doesn't seem likely.
Seems like a clear no to me.
