2 decent starts and you're here? The guy has been competitive in both games. Still getting plenty of swings and misses and walks no one. This is exactly as has been drawn up. He's got a 6 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP. Those two are not compatible. One will revert to the other, and he could go either way. He's not been bad at all.

It's OK to be optimistic, but you need to have your opinions based on facts, quantifiable evidence, and statistics or you will be railed upon. Mikolas has given up 8 runs in 12 IP. This cannot be framed as good by any reasonable person. He may, turn things around and wind up being a good pitcher, but at this point he is not been "decent". He has been bad. |

A 1.25 WHIP and a 6 ERA do not correlate well. The 12/0 Strikeout to walk ratio is incredible. The guy might be, but two 4 run games are hardly something to be throwing him under the bus for. Unless you already have preconceived notions you are just wanting to support. Mikolas could very well stink, he has in the big leagues before, but his start isn't reading that way unless you want to read it that way. Or just cherry pick ERA. |

Or just cherry pick ERA. high homerun rates will drive your era up despite a low whip. hes not gonna have a 6+ era but im not optomistic about him having sub 4 era either |
