How did we let a guest in here? We're not the least bit hospitable.
And who's the new guy?

I hate wildcard teams.
They come in with momentum from winning a high pressure win or go home game while everyone else sits for 4 days. The last 2 WS wins by the Cards were as wildcard teams.
Next season we need to dial it back just a bit during the regular season.

I am still on board with shortening the regular season and expanding the playoffs.

We just didn't have the bats to answer to the excellent starting pitching by the Nats. The coaching staff prepared them with a solid plan and their starters executed it perfectly. We are not a good enough hitting team to overcome that kind of starting pitching. And all of a sudden, in the playoffs, we go from 2019 defense back to 2018 defense. At least it made the clown commentators shut up about Wong being a "Gold Glove caliber" fielder. On the whole though, this team overachieved, imo. I think I picked them to be 71-91. Shildt should get MOY because he got them to the playoffs without anyone really having a standout season. I wonder if anyone was in the top ten of any hitting stat. We've got some pruning to do and hopefully we will make some deals during the offseason that will improve our offense to the level of our pitching. Glad to see someone was listening. Well done Mike!
